Needing to upgrade near-obsolete computer equipment and also dissatisfied with a leased landline phone system, RHI turned to Interpro Technology Solutions to completely upgrade its infrastructure.
Pro Mech Ground Support Systems
Pro Mech Ground Support Systems specialises in the hire of non-mechanical plant equipment nationwide, particularly across the south of England, the home counties and London.
An issue with internal resources of the Pro Mech server led to ongoing performance issues and the firm called on Interpro to increase memory and storage, improve system performance and increase longevity.
About Pro Mech
Fareham-based Pro Mech, founded in 2000, forms part of the vital backbone of the UK’s civil engineering and construction industry.

After spotting a gap in the market, the company has also branched out with a lifting division offering approved on-site inspections of client equipment under the auspices of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA).

The Requirement
Interpro Technology Solutions had been looking after Pro Mech’s IT support and services since 2019 when the company felt it had outgrown its previous supplier.
Interpro took over the support for Pro Mech’s existing equipment, servers, services and email, which was already hosted in Office 365.
During the initial period of providing IT support Interpro noticed a bottleneck performance issue on the terminal server due to the internal resources of the server. The solution was to increase memory and storage was to improve overall the performance and increase longevity.
The Solution
The Interpro team took time to assess Pro Mech’s needs and in three years completely transformed and modernised its IT system and telecoms into the streamlined and user-friendly kit so necessary in today’s business world.
During the three-year period Interpro carried out a Windows 7 replacement programme which consisted of around 15 Windows 7 machines being replaced with Windows 10 machines.
Interpro also installed hosted VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephony across four sites and provided FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) and leased line connectivity across all sites.
Interpro also designed and built a new modern website which includes integration with Pro Mech’s main hire software platform.
All onsite servers were migrated to a 24×7 managed cloud environment to support the future growth of the business and potentially migrate to newer hardware.
The Benefits
Pro Mech now has an optimised and supported IT and telecommunications infrastructure that has supported the growth of the business, allowing them to scale easily and effectively.
The company now has a fully managed IT support operation across the ProMech User Base (four sites), as well as website and InspHire Hire software which means staff spend far less time processing bookings and rekeying customer information
Internal and external communications have been improved, with business grade broadband and leased lines to service the needs of the business and bandwidth hungry users, as well as free VoIP telephone calls reduced monthly telephone bills
Pro Mech now has an IT infrastructure that can scale seamlessly with the needs of the business as well as ongoing professional IT support and consultancy.
